In Memory of Her Majesty

Back in April 2020—when the pandemic was just becoming a thing—I linked to the speech from The Queen, “We Will Meet Again.”

It was weird for me to have found such power and comfort from a Queen from a country that I’ve never been to, 8 time zones away. Power and comfort that I never did find, not even once in the years that followed, from President You Know Who.1

I went back to re-watch the speech. It’s still empowering. It’s refreshing how much of the words proved true after 2 years and 5 months.

May she Rest In Peace.

  1. I still have to say that The Queen had it “easy,” because she reigns, and does not govern. The same speech given by a prime minister might not bode well when the world was on fire.
