Productive In Irrelevant Meetings

Two weeks ago my manager put together an “optional learning session” for the small team — the 6 of us in the team.

As the only Data Analyst on the team, I wasn’t quite concerned by their discussion on year-end finance budgeting. I kept working on the long-ass query in front of me. Weirdly enough, I found myself extremely productive and arguably made more progress than I had that entire day.

Here’s the magical kicker with a meeting/talk/confluence/panel that does not even concern me: it’s full of energy, positive white noise in the background, and then there is the fact that nobody won’t even notice you (because they are focused on the conversation). It’s perfect for productivity.

I’ve been meaning to work in the company cafeteria for an entire morning and I might just do that.
